Unions united for peace in Ukraine ??
“The trade union movement is united for peace in Ukraine,” said Oliver Roethig, Regional Secretary of UNI Europa. “We are calling out Putin’s war of aggression and condemn it in the strongest of terms. Today, we have joined the international and Belgian trade union movement in the streets of Brussels. “We are implementing worker-to-worker solidarity. We are supporting workers reps to use their say within multinational companies to push for contributions to the peace effort. “Across Europe, unions are taking steps to support communities in Ukraine and provide assistance to the victims of war. Together with our colleagues in COZZ, the Central Europe Organising Centre, our unions in Poland and elsewhere, we are working to support refugees arriving in the EU. “We will not let warmongers bury the path to peace. Together we can break the vicious cycle that is spiralling us deeper into the horrors of war. By taking steps to commit to each other, we lead the way towards the peace we want to see in Ukraine and across Europe.”
