UNI Europa stands in solidarity with ver.di following attack in Munich

UNI Europa expresses its deep shock at the violent attack that occurred during a peaceful demonstration organised by UNI affiliate ver.di in Munich. Our thoughts are with the victims, the injured, and their families in this difficult time.

As we await further details from the authorities, we commend the emergency responders and all those providing support to those affected. We echo ver.di’s call for solidarity and unity in the face of such a tragic event.

We stand shoulder to shoulder with our colleagues at ver.di, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to solidarity, democracy, and the right to peaceful protest. Any attack on trade unionists is an attack on fundamental rights and freedoms.

We will not be intimidated, and together, we will continue to strive for a solidaristic, democratic and peaceful society.

This statement was adopted by UNI Europa’s Management Committee.
