Letter: strengthening fair competition in the European retail sector in the Covid-19 crisis context
Retail workers have been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis. Those working in food retail have been thrust to the frontline of our societies’ response while others have faced uncertainty as their workplaces have closed through the lockdown. The landscape has certainly changed as online shopping too has gone through the roof.

Recovering from this and adjusting to a new normal for these workers, who account for 9% of the EU’s workforce, requires intervention. UNI Europa Commerce have written to Thierry Breton, Commissioner for Internal Market outlining what is needed.
