UNI Europa and FES presented their joint research project on collective bargaining practices on AI at the Labor.A conference in Berlin.
At this year’s Labor.A digital conference in Berlin, UNI Europa together with the FES Competence Centre on the Future of Work presented their joint research project focusing on collective bargaining practices on AI in the European services sectors.
A session on the research featured speakers from various organisations, such as Marta Kahancovà, Central European Labour Studies Institute, Steve Rolf, Digital Futures at Work Research Centre, University of Sussex and Giovanni Suriano, Works Council at DT AG (Ver.di)., Participants discussed the implementation of data-driven AI systems in workplaces, particularly regarding data protection and working conditions.
The goal was to raise awareness among workers and trade unions about the use of AI in their environments and to discuss real-world examples of collective agreements related to AI systems. It also addressed how frequently used AI systems by employers impact workers and discuss current collective bargaining situations with concrete examples of agreements on AI usage.
