UNI Global Union Finance affiliates in Italy are celebrating a renewed and strengthened national collective agreement for some 280,000 workers in the banking sector. The agreement sees significant pay rises, an increase in paid training, a reduction in working time and new protections against violence and harassment.

On Black Friday, on 24 November 2023, Amazon faced strikes and protests in over 30 countries around the world in a massive day of action coordinated by the Make Amazon Pay campaign. For Social Europe, UNI Europa Regional Secretary Oliver Roethig wrote about the day — and why it is wrong that public authorities are rewarding Amazon with lucrative cloud-computing contracts.

The UNI Europa Graphical and Packaging Conference adopted strategic focuses, including strengthening sectoral networks, countering collective bargaining threats, addressing industrial consolidation, broadening social dialogue, fostering stronger unions in Central & Eastern Europe, and promoting global integration.
