#EURecoveryPlan “Workers’ collective bargaining rights must be at the centre of the new normal” (video)

EU country leaders meet tomorrow to decide on whether or not to give their green light to an ambitious Covid-19 recovery plan.

Service sector workers have been at the forefront of the crisis. As the economic fallout looms, many service jobs are in the balance. As lockdown measures begin to life across the continent, Oliver Roethig, Regional Secretary of UNI Europa, outlines three demands on behalf of the 7 million union members in the European services sector:

1. Put workers’ safety at the heart of the recovery plan’s implementation.
2. Promote decent work by only providing financial assistance to companies that have collective bargaining agreements.
3. Include the services sector in recovery efforts.
