22 June 2020, 13.30-15.30 (CET)
The COVID-19 crisis has put a spotlight on the long-term care sector.
UNI Global Union, along with the OECD’s Trade Union Advisory Committee (TUAC), is organising a webinar in partnership with the OECD to confront these challenges. The webinar coincides with the release of the new OECD publication on the long-term care sector, entitled “Who Cares”.
The webinar will address how OECD countries have responded to the pandemic as well as more structural long-term challenges such as low pay and precarious working conditions. Speakers will highlight best practices and lessons for the future of long-term care. UNI CARE will be represented by Paul Bell, SIPTU Ireland and Sarah Nolan, SEIU USA.
Speakers include:
- Christy Hoffman, General Secretary of UNI Global Union;
- Stefano Scarpetta, Director, Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Directorate of the OECD;
- Government representatives (Netherlands & Germany).
The event will be moderated by Pierre Habbard, General Secretary of TUAC.
