Temporary Agency Work European Social Partners adopt Work Programme for 2025-2027

The EU Sectoral Social Dialogue on temporary agency work is a core area of joint activities of the World Employment Confederation-Europe and UNI-Europa. as it represents both employers and workers in the sector. The 2025-2027 work programme is aligned with the strategic priorities of the incoming new European Commission. It aims to address the most pressing labour market and social challenges in the agency work industry.

“Engaging in constructive sectoral social dialogue both at the European and national level is deeply rooted in the World Employment Confederation-Europe’s vision to deliver better labour market outcomes for all, ” says Sonja van Lieshout, ad interim Managing Director of the World Employment Confederation-Europe.  ”The thematic focus is on appropriate agency work regulation, skills and employment policies, and strengthening the national social dialogue by sharing good practices to meet the needs and challenges in agency work.”

Oliver Roethig, Regional Secretary of UNI Europa, said: “We welcome the timely adoption of the SSDC Work Programme in temporary agency work . The programme is key in addressing future labour market resilience  and assigning capacity-building resources for the sectoral social partners.”

Under this new work programme, the sectoral social partners aim to continue playing an active role in shaping EU social policies and  conduct joint projects on capacity building and labour mobility.

In recent years, WEC-Europe and UNI-Europa have cooperated on joint projects on digital labour platforms, social innovation in the agency work industry, and capacity building for social partners, including the adoption of joint recommendations.
