Her full dedication to the CCOO union in which she was active from its beginnings with her involvement in the union election teams, and in 1997 Pilar took up the position of Secretary of Women of the Federation of Trade, Hospitality, Tourism and Gaming (FECOHT-CCOO) of Asturias and in 1998 she was elected Secretary General, a position she held until 2004.
From 2004 to 2013, as a member of the executive committee of the National Federation of Trade, Hospitality, Tourism and Gaming (FECOHT CCOO), Pilar assumed the role of Secretary of Immigration, of particular relevance due to the prevalence of migrant workers in our sectors. In 2006 her responsibilities were extended to the private gaming sector. Since 2014 Pilar has been a member of the executive committee of the Federation of Services CCOO, an organisation resulting from the merger of the federations FECOHT AND COMFIA (financial sector, insurance, ETT, ICTS) of CCOO, and since then have worked as the Secretary of international trade union action. In parallel to her union activity, Pilar has been intensely active within the political arena, particularly in relation to feminism and the LGBTIQ movement.
